How to Solve "Grass is Greener" Syndrome
Hey all, would appreciate any advice on how to eliminate the mindset in thinking that there is something that is always better? Recently got an offer/signed from a group that I'm happy with, but I had to turn down other final interviews with other solid IBD groups (but different coverage focus so prob not apples to apples comparison). It's been eating at me for too long. Any advice would be appreciated.
Meditation. Practice being grounded in where you're currently at in life and as time progresses with practice, gratitude fills in. Cheers
My grandpa taught me an infallible technique to not fall in love. Whenever you feel that you are falling in love with someone, just imagine that person pooping. That will immediately end the love story in your head (as long as you don't have coprophilia).
You can apply the same logic in your case. You are having second thoughts about that other good-looking IBD group? Don't worry. Just imagine that it is full of shit. Literally. The office is full of shit and of people pooping around. Imagine the MD squatting on your desk and taking a shit on your keyboard because you did a stupid mistake on page 84 of the appendix of that stupid pitch deck.
While this might seem a shitty example, it can save you from some stinky thoughts.
