How to understand Moyer Distressed Debt Analysis

Really want to learn the ins and outs of Rx and eventually break into it. I started reading Moyer’s DDA. I feel like there is so much information covered on each page. For those who’ve read it, how did you manage to retain all the information in the book?

Fully understanding it will be a function of time and effort, and not understanding 100% of it on your first read is completely expected. I first read it in college and didn't understand most of it. I've read it once or twice since then, having read other similar materials in between, and everything is much clearer. I would suggest taking a similar mosaic approach and reading about confusing sections from multiple different sources, because not everything in that book is explained perfectly. Moyer also wrote a much shorter primer on the subject that can be found online (I would be happy to send it later but I'm currently on mobile).

Ditto to what that guy said. Moyer is best when treated as a textbook: it’s great for educational purposes but only understood when you have a foundational knowledge. So diversify sources when possible to gain more understanding. Application also helps a bunch as always

I also recommend HL rx case study to help see tangible application, as well as the Caesar’s Palace Coup book. Rx is convoluted but fun
