Anyone know about the status of HSBC LevFin currently? I know they don't have a strong IB business, not sure about their financing groups.
PS: I know it's early, but I'm asking since they have a resume drop at my school.

Bad. I’d say LevFin top banks (depending in the year, credit rating, sector, etc): JPM/GS/CS/MS/BAML/BARCLAYS/Jefferies. Those are all good.
Is C not considered good? Seems to be top 5 in HYB tables from what I see
I would rather work at any of those other names than Citi. Haven’t seen league tables by rating lately, but I’d imagine they do mostly BB stuff and win mandates due to balance sheet. Maybe if need to add one name was DB, they were really good in LevFin up to a couple of years ago. Not sure how they are doing now.

HSBC -Lev Fin - Happy to send you the data and insight you need to draw your own conclusions. FYI i helped a kid prep for Lev Fin summer analyst - the interview was surprisingly very technical compared to other firms questions (from feedback from others I've helped). I see a lot of poor quality generalizing insight above, drawing conclusions based on anecdotal (but they're not 100% sure). Comments like that are at high risk of misinformation.
