HYP 4.0 CS Major -- Want to recruit EBs. Is BIWS guide enough with two finance internships?

HYP sophomore. I have no finance/accounting background but recently got interested in IB recruiting due to FOMO. I will do finance-related internships this Spring and Summer to make myself competitive for these roles. I skimmed Rosenbaum, and although it seemed interesting, I didn't have much of an idea of what was going on. Do I have to memorize this book to be competitive for EBs, or will the BIWS guides suffice on their own? Can these guides be mastered in two months without a finance/accounting background? I can devote ~15 hours per week to the task. Thanks!

Not sure. I landed an IB gig at an EB, but I didn't come from HYP with a 4.0. I don't think our situations are at all similar.

Thanks for the reply! Will a conceptual mastery of these guides be enough to pass technical interviews at EBs? I don't want to risk being underprepared.

Potential PE/HF opportunities down the road are much more lucrative than SWE roles.
