I hate making money for other people, any advice?

Without going into too much detail, I have a pretty prestigious job at a top corporate. However, I am just so unmotivated to work. At the end of the day, I am just running different scenarios in excel to help an extremely profitable company make more money...who cares...how do you guys stay motivated? I do get a bonus, but it's nowhere near as large as investment banking. Even if it was, I am still putting in hours to help a large company make more money....how do you guys get yourself to care?

If the company is putting the money to good use then def think it makes sense to help them make more

Maybe it’s about trying to appreciate where the money goes. The profits go to the shareholders or stay on the company’s balance sheet. If you can try to find the good in the shareholders and/or the company itself, then maybe that will be able to help you stay motivated to keep working and help them. I wish you all the best

A few things I've found that help:

1. Serve other people at work. I said serve because I don't mean networking, finding some quid pro quo, etc. where you'll get some benefit. I mean looking at your coworkers around you as human beings, who have wants fears, etc. outside of work. Is there an analyst that's struggling, does one of your coworkers need someone to listen to. Can you help them? I've found that when I try to help my coworkers in this manner my work day becomes much more meaningful, and I'm much happier.

2. Work to live - this philosophy is pretty well known so I won't elaborate

EDIT: link to Clayton Christensen book How Will You Measure Your Life, which is well worth the read.
