IB -> EURO
So I’ve been chatting with IB team for a bit now and the associate told me to reach out when I submit my application. I applied to the FICC/S&T team since that was the only capital markets position open (not sure if they are hiring a IB SA) but turns out they are l hiring one. I already sent an email to the IB associate saying I applied to the FICC role. Once IB opens up do I send him a follow up?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you should do:
Yes, you should absolutely follow up with the IB associate once the IB SA position opens up. Since you've already established communication and mentioned your FICC application, it's a good opportunity to express your interest in the IB role. When you follow up, keep it professional and concise. Mention that you noticed the IB SA position has opened and that you're very interested in applying, given your conversations with them and your alignment with the role. Reiterate your enthusiasm for the team and ask if they have any advice or insights for your application.
This approach shows initiative and keeps the associate engaged in your process. Just ensure your email is polite and well-structured. Good luck!
