IB from IU Kelley Pre-Business

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are doing well. Currently I’m a high school senior, and was wondering the difficulty of breaking into the IBW as a pre-business student for Kelley. I know it’s insanely difficult to even let alone get into the workshop, would it hinder chances for IB recruiting for students who are in pre-business?

I made a crucial mistake and applied to only reached and applied to IU late in the admissions cycle. Given that, I’m currently admitted for pre-business. I have no other school which I’ve been accepted to for business. Is it worth it to pay 60k oos to go for pre-business and take the risk as a standard admit? Would greatly appreciate anyone’s input and advice as this is my only option. Thanks

I was a standard admit. If you can't get into Kelley (auto admit if no grades lower than a B freshman year), you won't get into the IBW and you certainly won't break into IB. Classes are not hard, it is literally a function of work ethic. Also, the IBW does not consider whether you were a DA or a standard admit.

You go to IU not Princeton you chode. Just know that workshop recruits well because it trains the best analysts to churn through. Work harder

I’ve been hearing a lot more about the other student groups aside from the ibw these days. There’s a group that trains kids pretty well (name is something like emg, egm etc), spoke to a couple people who were very sharp.
Obviously the ibw has a solid alumni network, but there are a lot of smart kids who don’t get accepted and still get results

Analyst 1 hit the nail on the head here, standard admit makes no difference. Classes are on the easier side so to do well you just need to take your academics seriously. Look at my other comment for more on this
