IB, PE, VC, HF in Princeton or Philly area

Interned in NYC this summer and going to intern there again next summer. Don’t really know if I could live there long term due to end goal of raising a family.

Looking to live in Princeton area or work in Philly and commute. Any quality IB, PE, VC, HF firms in these areas?

As aforementioned, if I’m trying to raise a family, I’d rather have somewhat good WLB (max 70hrs a week). Thank you!

Connecticut is also an option… there are a ton of funds in the Greenwich/Stamford/Westport area. Goldman has an office in Norwalk with a GSAM presence. Fairfield county is pretty expensive but it’s really really nice and there are a good amount of things to do.

Why not live in NYC until you have a family and then commute in? Plenty of people live in NYC want to raise their kids in the suburbs but it's hard to get analyst jobs out there.

max 70 hours is not really doable in any of those careers. Maybe HF if you're great but that's not really a highly touted WLB route

Vanguard is based outside Philly though, to give you an actual answer - AM is a great WLB industry. There are some smaller/MM type funds in Philly that would probably be interested in you after 2 years of banking
