Was laid off in early November.
Been recruiting for IB roles but only got 2 interviews for M&A positions so far. Seems like hiring slowed down from thanksgiving onwards and will continue to be slow till end of December.
I’m sure things will open up more after Jan 1st

I think openings might be slow to ramp up in early 2024 as firms wait to see if rates stay low and deal activity picks up meaningfully. Would expect summer to be more active with analyst turnover
Plenty of opportunities. Moelis alone has seven analyst openings (just interviewed with them)
They don’t have openings for first year analysts (undergrad analysts)
New grad recruiting happens in August. Banks are looking for experienced analysts this time of the year.

Just a get to know the team kind of interview. Very fit based. Seems like a great group of guys . Laid back, dress in polos / jeans and all love college football.
