IB to sell side equity research?
I've been looking at some opportunities that popped up recently and one of them is a junior equity research role at a BB. My (current) ultimate goal in life is to either do corp dev or PE (wildly different I know, but what I want to do is basically invest and create value either as a strategic investor or a financial investor), and I thought maybe equity research could bring out more of an investor mentality in me.
Can anyone tell me whether my above reasoning makes sense or not, and any pro - cons equity research has versus IB? Heard that the work life balance is not as good as people think it is, and also some analysts don't actually know how to model, etc.
