Ib transfer switch

I am currently a Mechanical Engineering Major at UVM Honors College with a 3.83 Gpa going into my junior year next year. I have recently thought about going into investment banking. I love math and get along well with people. I applied as a transfer to Middlebury college and was accepted. However at UVM I don’t pay any tuition and would likely have about 100k in my college fund after graduation if I stayed at UVM. At Middlbery I would likely have 0 left over. I have heard it can be hard to break into IB as a junior transfer due to the timing of internships but I wanted to get the wso perspective. Do you think its a better move to stay at UVM, try working as an engineer for 2 years and then get an MBA if I still want to go the IB route? Or would it be better to take the risk and go directly from Middlebury ?
