IB vs REPE for a career in PE?

Taking into account that my long term goal is to move to PE (or even HF), would it be better to start in an investment role, even if it is RE, or to do the traditional IB path? Both would be at well regarded BBs.

Thanks

What about IB in a RE coverage group?

Does that greatly pigeon hole you as well?

Please don't listen to this guy, he didn't even have the reading comprehension skills to actually answer your question. Go to IB.
