IBD SA Abroad or Corp Fin in US?

First off, I am studying abroad in a country in central Europe

The hunt for a IBD SA position in the US is not going so well, so I am considering staying here for the summer and working M&A SA here (Assuming I can land an internship..its late).

How would that set me up for full-time recruiting next year in the US? Is international M&A experience looked upon favorably? Or would I be better off taking a corp finance internship in the US ?

Any thoughts?
