If you could only choose one - CapIQ vs FactSet vs PitchBook - and why?
As the title says. Mainly for identifying targets (public and private), comps and share price price analysis, and pulling Excel data for models.

I’ve used FactSet for ~a year and I have always found it useful and intuitive, plus it has an MS Office add-in that helps a ton. You should also check out Refinitiv, the UI is nice and it’s a bit cheaper. All around each of those packages are going to be able to get your data to you how you need it
CapIQ
I wouldn't include Pitchbook in this particular mix, their platform's more specialized towards PE/VC, whereas all the others you listed can be searched for public/private, M&A, equities/debt, indexes.
Of Capital IQ and Factset - I tend to prefer CapIQ, the interface is friendlier and there are less steps/clicks to get where I need to be. Bloomberg's got a ton of data, but can also be clunky in a variety of ways, whether at a proper BB terminal or via "Bloomberg anywhere". Eikon has a lot of promise, but it also feels like data is hidden behind too many clicks.
So CapIQ for me.
