I'm pretty sure Trump's win indirectly got my offer

I’m not even a fan of Trump as a president (and truthfully I think he's overall a pretty bad president), but I’m honestly relieved that DEI is finally being scaled back. I really don’t think I would have landed my offer if he hadn’t won. Between the executive orders targeting federal contractors and the Department of Justice shifting its focus toward "reverse discrimination" cases, the legal risk for HR departments has completely flipped.

I’m a current undergrad at a semi-target and just finished recruiting. The difference between my class and the year above me is surreal. For context, last year at a specific BB, about 10 kids from my school received offers, and I think all but one of them was a woman. I’m sure all of those girls were qualified, but the discrepancy in opportunities for non-DEI guys was reaching a pretty ridiculous point.

Fast forward to this year, and we’ve already had something like five non-diversity admits. Guys in my year are seeing significantly more success, and the process finally feels meritocratic again. It’s clear this wouldn't have happened under a Harris administration and I really do think the new administration was the primary catalyst for firms finally pushing back against DEI mandates, and honestly, it's about fucking time.

Not true. At a target and we have a dedicated recruiting team + headcount for most top BBs. If all seats are taken by people in early DEI program, kids get less seats when regular recruiting starts.
