Imperial vs Bocconi MSc Finance

Hello everyone,

I’m a final-year student at the top university in my country (Spain/Portugal/France), with a solid GPA and one S&T internship at the biggest bank here. My main weakness is that I haven’t been very involved in student societies or clubs.

I'm studying for the GRE and applying to MSc Finance at Imperial and Bocconi. Not to sound overconfident, but I figure it's fairly certain I’ll be admitted to both. Considering tuition and living costs, the overall expenses are roughly the same.

If my goal is IB at BB/EB in London, what do you reckon is the best option for me?

Both schools have a strong presence there, but I think the visa situation is the key difference. Since Bocconi program is two-years I'd have a chance to apply to summers, whereas Imperial I could only apply to some summers and off-cycles. What would be your advice?

If you're not Italian, Imperial is the better choice. You'll be able to apply to all Summers (just mention you'll graduate in 2 years, which is not a lie since you can extend your Master by an additional semester) and all Off-cycles (since you'll have a Student visa). 2yr feature in Bocconi's is great but good luck finding a firm in LDN sponsoring for Offcycles. Reality is that majority of London off-cycles at BBs or top PE firms are taken by French/German/Italian students enrolled in Masters at LBS, Imperial and LSE
