Insight appreciated

Hi,

I'm currently a freshman at USC majoring in math and I'm struggling with picking between recruiting for IB or S&T next year. I currently have a search fund internship and I know the general path for IB recruiting (technicals, networking).

However, I've found myself also interested in trading and markets, things like options and derivatives are super fascinating.

For those with experience in either career paths or both, can you provide insight into why your career path? And for those in S&T how is recruiting different to IB?

Factors like hours/work doesn't matter as much if I enjoy the job, one caveat being I might want to go back to the bay area to work

Thanks guys!
