Internal mobility from SA to FT at GS?

Hey everyone! I'll be working as a summer analyst at GS this summer (DCM/ECM/LevFin) and was wondering how the process would be to lateral to a traditional coverage M&A group. When do I start networking and should I reach out to specific groups only? Should I reach out to analysts and associates only? Is there an official program for this that I have to apply to? How are interviews? I haven't heard much about the process, but any info on this helps. Thank you everyone!

Out of Curiosity, if you can get a seat in something like LevFin at GS out of all places, why leave? It's one of the most desired seats to be in.
