I know that Goldman's is pretty cutthroat and heard Citi is pretty friendly.

Same on both - 2 friends at Citi that say if you're good, before you're a VP it's pretty easy to go S&T --> IB and vice versa

Heard they preach good internal mobility, but not sure if that's the case or not.
I know people who have moved after the two year FA program into various FO roles there including banking.
Could you elaborate on what the FA program is?
I am going to be a first year analyst in a FO role - is FO --> FO doable? Specifically, FO --> IB
What about Morgan Stanley? How possible is it to switch departments going from SA to FT?
If it's FO to FO it's possible otherwise very difficult

Depends on when you’re moving. At GS, intern -> FT group mobility is definitely cutthroat, but, for example, moving after your 2 years as an analyst for a year (and either staying in new group or coming back to old group) is highly encouraged and quite easy to do. Ultimately, mobility at any bank is 10x easier if you’re a top performer, regardless.

Switched between groups at BofA. IMO has one of the best internal transfer policies... there's an entire job board / system dedicated to just internally transferring.
BofA is really good for moving both between offices/regions and groups within IB.
Have seen a ton of people do it at every level from Analyst to MD.
The only thing I haven't seen is people move between capital markets and investment banking.
