HELP PLEASE!! Internship application rejection while networking

I applied to an internship 10 days ago. I have a networking call set up for tomorrow and the week after next. Today, I received an email from HR stating they will not be moving forward with my application. Should I still proceed with the scheduled networking calls with that bank? If the networking calls go very well, do the analyst's whom I speak with have the ability to reverse the HR application rejection?

Still take the call and you can bring up that you got rejected, but still show interest. If it goes well enough, there’s a small chance that they could do something but most likely won’t change your outcome.
