Internship Opportunities

Hey WSO Community,

I'm currently having a hard decision and could really use some help. I have two internship opportunities for my freshman summer. And i don't know which to take

  1. Nestle Finance Internship: This position would involve working in finance at Nestle,  The pros here are:
    • The prestige and recognition of the Nestle name on my resume.
    • Directly related to finance, which aligns with my career aspirations of working in IB
    • Exposure to a large corporate environment and the potential for networking.
  1. Local Surf Camp Front Desk Job: This job is closer to home and would involve working at the front desk of a surf camp. The pros here are:
    • Convenience, as I wouldn't need to commute to Cairo weekly.
    • The opportunity to meet new people in a more relaxed environment.
    • A chance to enjoy the summer and possibly pick up surfing.

My ultimate goal is to break into investment banking after graduation. I'm wondering if having a big name like Nestle on my resume would make a significant difference to recruiters, even though it's not a bank. Would the experience at Nestle be more valuable, or should I just go for the surf camp job for its convenience and fun?
