interview question myth
I have heard some rumors about some signal questions..
if the interviewer start asking " what do you like to do for fun" is that a signal that they are pretty satisfied w/ what you have answered so far?

can't really prove it or deny it, but in my case if the interviwer was determined to grill you on personality + fit questions, it was often the case that he/she asked "what do you like to do in your free time, etc" questions. I personally hate this question because one never knows how one's answer will be seen upon. The best answer can easily be sunk by a wry interviewer. But that said.... I hope this myth is proven right.
I don't think it signals any particular case. Some are just curious to know, mainly for fit purposes. From my experience, the smaller teams/groups often asked me that.
I have experienced those kind of questions when they were not interested in me at all and I can tell the interview wasn't going super well. They asked me about my interests and what not. Needless to say, I did not get the offer.
Let me let you kiddies in on a little secret, we are not robots. We don't come in with set questions, or with an algorithm of what questions to ask at what times. There are certain things we are looking to determine during the interview, and we will ask basically whatever pops into our head that we think can test these competencies.
The more you read into it, the more likely you are to fuck up.
agreed.
Don't read too much into the questions they ask. I've gotten the "what do you do for fun" question towards the end of interviews or even in the beginning...and some of those didn't lead to FT offers.
