Investment Banking Brazil process
Hi everyone,
I graduated with a degree in Computer Science (2024) and have completed two internships — one at a search fund and another at a small investment bank in the U.S. (for about 10 weeks).
I'm originally from Brazil and am currently trying to break into Investment Banking there. I'm particularly interested in understanding how the recruiting process works in Brazil.
I’ve heard about the trainee programs offered by some banks, and I’m aiming for those, but I’d love to hear more details from anyone who has gone through the process or is familiar with the market.
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance 🙏
Also, I was thinking of doing a master's at FGV. Does this help me get into IB in Brazil?
Hi,
I have been working in a French bank in M&A for 2 years.
You should apply for an intern position (estagio or trainee) and then try to turn the internship into a full time offer.
FGV is the best business school, most of the M&A guys graduated from FGV or Insper.
Abs,
Do you all have any color on comp for ASO+ in Brazil? Is it comparable to bulge bracket comp in the US?
I know that from 2nd/3rd Year Associates, you get around R$1M (around $180k-$200k).
