Investment banking: hours at each level
Although this kind of data is everywhere on the internet, I'm yet to find a compiled list of the average hours for each level of the investment banking hierarchy. If possible, include if employees at each level get a protected weekend as well.
Analyst: Whenever your Associate wants you to work. Associate: Whenever your VP wants you to work. VP: Whenever your Director wants you to work. Director: Whenever your MD wants you to work. MD: Whenever the Group Head wants you to work.

To echo that point, the problem with moving up is that you end up getting involved in more and more deals, pitches, projects, etc. You may be staffed on 3-4 as an analyst while a VP may have to be on 5+. As a VP, you aren't doing the same amount of modeling, drafting, etc., but you are incredibly bogged down in managing the deal and acting as quality control.
As you move to Director, you then have to begin sourcing, or at the very least, building a network that will allow you to eventually bring in deal flow.
So the work level never really declines, it just changes.
