Investment Banking in Bogota / Colombia
Hi everyone, I'm an undergrad student at a target university in Canada looking to explore Investment and Corporate Banking opportunities in Bogota, Colombia. (My family is from there and considering moving back).
I've seen some threads mention better hours. Anyone have any sort of idea on comp? I've also heard coffee chatting is a concept which doesn't exist there, any validity to that statement??
I know there isn't much info out there so anything helps!!

I mean the cartels are pretty anti merger that sinaloa thing was one off also very hard to model them out never give out proper forecast end up having to do channel checks all over the place for price and volume
You realize Sinaloa and Colombia are in two different continents right? US is closer to them lol
I have a friend that did IB in Colombia and it's a joke. He came in Europe and doesn't want to hear about it. My empirical evidence is that only weirdos want to do IB in Colombia.
And to add, if you want to do IB in LatAm the best office - at least in my impression - would be Brazil (conclusion derived from seeing LatAm hires across my career and concluding that the most competent/dedicated/good personality are usually the Brazilians).
