"Investment Banking Intern" vs "Intern" as title
Hi,
I've noticed on LinkedIn that a lot of interns put "Investment Banking Intern" instead of simply writing "Intern" as their job title. Is this simply to clarify your division and would you also do this on your resume?
Always mention "Investment banking" next to your position if you did intern at a firm. It's a key phrase that bankers scan for on your resume.
Yep, recruiters query by keywords on LinkedIn and through the HR software.
Just the standard way of indicating what part of the business you worked in based on what I've seen.
Same with any title (SA/Analyst/etc.)
"Investment Banking..." is used to distinguish the prestige from the pus. There are all kinds of analysts. No one would want to be mistaken for some lower ranked analyst at the bank. Make sure you're an Investment Banking Intern/SA and not just regular ole, who cares, intern on your LinkedIn and resume.
Can I write - Debt Capital Markets - Intern - FIGs?
Include it. It prevents your resume from being filtered out with a keyword screening.
Thanks for the replies everyone - seems like it's quite clear that I should include it on both linkedin and resume.
