Investment in PC
Hi everyone I am currently an incoming 2026 intern at an EB. I currently have a Mac and I want to get better at Excel before the internship. I know that Macs don't have all of the functionality that PCs have for Excel. I was wondering if you guys would recommend investing in an inexpensive PC right now to practice shortcuts and other functions prior to the internship or do you think it's fine to stick with the Mac I have? I really want to set myself up best to get a return offer so I would appreciate any advice from current bankers or seniors with return offers.
I had the same problem, instead of buying try to borrow computers from your school library/computer lab and practice there
Would consider taking the signing/relocation bonus and buying a window laptop ( lenovo or dell have some good ones below 1k). Good to have not only for internship but also FT if you decide to re-recruit and need to do a case study / model test. Also grab a cheap 23 or 27 inch monitor no more than $200 for the summer in case you need to WFH over the weekend. Once you leave college and enter finance, everyone uses windows so might as well get used to the system.
