Is 23 too old for a starting entry investment banking analyst?

Is 23 too old for a starting entry investment banking analyst? My course finishes when I am 23 and I was wondering whether it would be more of a disadvantage to me compared to someone who finishes bachelors at an age of 21 or 22. My buddies are telling me it is already a disadvantage to start ibd analyst positions so late, but does one year make a difference in terms of recruitment disadvantage?

Not at all but it is too old to be asking such a ridiculous question

Not at all - maybe if you were 35 it might be weird, but plenty of people graduate college at 23 anyway even with no extra classes/record gaps. Two of my friends will turn 23 before they graduate, they're both just old for their school year, and even then most will turn 23 within 6 months anyway. View it as having that little bit more of life experience but absolutely no one will notice

This makes no sense. They literally don't even ask you for your age on applications. Are you asking if it's too old from a social standpoint? I feel like nobody would give a fuck. Yeah if you're 30 I imagine you would have a different dynamic with the 21-24 year old analyst pool, but if you're a decent person this shouldn't matter. I've met people who worked for 2-3 years in other fields after graduation and then jumped to an IB analyst role.
