Hey yall. Incoming 2023 IB SA here. I was just wondering if its possible to commute for the summer if I'm a 1 hour train ride into the city. Given that NYC prices are insane and its hard to find a place with a short-term lease outside of an NYU dorm.

I did it, had an hour and half commute and I was fine. It sucked some days but just gotta make sure you wake up on time and not come in past 9:30am. Depends on how sweaty your group is, if you’re consistently pulling very late nights past 3am maybe you should consider getting a sublet for 2 months but if it happens once a week or so, it would help to have a friend in the city with a couch you could crash at when it happens
