Bunch of other threads around with good detail into Baruch and the placement process from there - but to answer your question it's not a target school. However, motivated kids who network hard and work hard seem to not have that much of an issue placing FO into BBs/MMs/EBs NYC. I think proximity has a lot to do with it which is extremely helpful, but at the end of the day its just not in the same tier as target schools and really not even a semi-target (depends who you ask tho).

Not a target but if you hustle and nail your technicals then you should be fine. I think the location helps a ton and the alumni seem to care about their own far better than I expected.

Baruch is a non-target. It's number 5 for JPM if you include back-office jobs, which is what the school feeds into. But you're in NYC, so if you hustle, get good internships early on, network like hell, and nail your technicals, you can get into IB coming from it

all of these guys are def target kids that are hating. Look on Linkedin, there are plenty of Baruch kids in IB. This school is straight finance students. Now its not gonna be easy. It is still a non target, but with networking you could break in. Dont listen to everyone on this sight. Reach out to alum of the school and try to get their perspective on the manner.

You're essentially saying what everyone else here is saying. No one argues that Baruch doesn't send people into IB. What we're saying is that it's not targeted, so students have to hustle a lot more to end up in front-office finance. But I have definitely come across a few Baruch kids at some good banks. Just trying to give OP some perspective on what he needs to do coming from Baruch
