Is being in IB an accomplishment?
Been in the job for a year now and I still don't feel very bright. I am up the learning curve but my day to day work product is decent and occasionally good, but I just don't feel like I am contributing much. Just doing what people tell me to do. I felt really happy when I first got the offer but now that has really faded. Also I don't work at a BB or anything, I'm at a boutique that does well in our space. So feel less legit than my friends from college who made it to Goldman and MS.

To ppl outside finance yes IB is a huge. Tbh the standards will keep raising the more you accomplish. If you don’t consider what you achieved now to be an accomplishment you will never feel accomplished because you will always find a more prestigious job.

Getting into anything competitive is considered an achievement. IB is very selective and this means you made it through the entire obstacle course.

It's competitive to get in, so I'd say it's a solid accomplishment. Just don't be a dick abt it and keep moving forward.
