Is the GS Virtual Insight Series at all useful?
Is the GS Virtual Insight Series at all useful? asking because I'm in it and I'd be surprised if there are enough spots in any given IB recruiting year to recruit the amount of participants. I knew going into it that it's not super prestigious but I assumed it at least wouldn't be a waste of time.
if anyone who has done it before can point out any benefits you got from it, I would love to hear about it
Based on previous WSO threads, the Goldman Sachs Virtual Insight Series has mixed reviews. Here are some insights:

Conclusion:
While the GS Virtual Insight Series can offer some benefits in terms of interview preparation, networking, and skill-building, it may not be as impactful or prestigious as some might hope. It is important to manage expectations and use the program as a supplementary resource rather than relying on it as a primary means of securing a position at Goldman Sachs.

No. Do NOT post it on LinkedIn but if you really want to, do it.
I already know not to do that lol, thanks anyway
If you're expecting it to be useful as signal of value for recruiting you're missing the point.
Not everyone learns about opportunities for a financial career at the same pace, if you're a student with no network I can see the program being useful in that manner.
Yep, this. It's a marketing thing and designed as a very basic info to financial careers, recruiting tips, basic timelines etc. Most college students are not grinding IB technicals during freshman year.
It is not any help to actually landing an IB job there or anywhere else.
Makes sense. So I guess the only possible tangible benefit (which might not even do anything) for someone who is already familiar with IB recruiting is fitting the words "Goldman Sachs Virtual Insights Series" under awards on the resume when applying to GS?
I would not put it on your resume, or at most put it under Education as a one liner with other items
Virtual Insight accepts everyone who applies, so it's only really useful to indicate interest in finance. For IB you'll ideally have plenty of finance and internships on your resume by the time you're applying
