Is there any point to attending info sessions freshman year?

Just started school at a target... is there any point to attending the company information sessions as a freshman? So far I've been to a few ones where I've literally just went in and sat down, listened to their presentation, picked up the food/pens, and then leave. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there just not much I can do?

Shouldn’t be bad at all unless you somehow do something embarrassing or ask to apply for a job right then and there. If anything they may be glad you are proactive, and at the least you will gain the advantage of free pens and food.

At my school we actually had banks come to introduce themselves to Freshman the first year.

It depends. If you actually want information then obviously that would be one reason to go. Based on how you described it this doesn't seem to be the case but I've seen info sessions where they accept resumes and take RSVPs. In this case I'm sure having your name in the system as a deeply interested student come soph / junior / senior year would be beneficial. If you don't have any other commitments you might as well go. 30 minute info, free food, meet people, go home.
