Is This a Good/Bad Idea

Given that I will be applying for FO ibd jobs in several weeks, do you think it would be a good idea to also apply for MO roles, or would that terminate my chances at getting into an IB group?

The reason I ask is because I go to a non-target school, and my school has OCR for MO roles such as credit risk, for all major BB's. Would this be a good net to create, just for a worst case scenario if I cant get the SA? Comments are appreciated.

If you've networked w/people from FO and MO in any given bank and can talk about why you want each, its probably not too detrimental. If you just throw your resume in a pile and ask for FO and MO interviews, HR might take notice... I'd say if you have good reasons for why you'd want each position, you should cast as wide a net as possible.

Realistically, it is just to create a safety-net if everything goes to crap and I cannot get an FO position. I would imagine that is not a good reason... I can try to think of something
