Is this BO/MO tomfoolery?
I'm a clueless idiot trying to make my way into the street and was hoping someone could tell me whether the following position (at a BB) would be BO/MO and something I should avoid:
Associate Business Manager M&A Group • Oversee performance reports focused on raising business and team performance. The objective is to improve business support to help the business leaders to effectively manage their businesses • Generate M&A investment banking fee analysis • Manage weekly and monthly GCIB and M&A business reporting • Perform comprehensive and in-depth client planning, competitor and financial industry benchmark research • Create business presentations on strategy, business performance, planning initiatives and other materials for internal and external audiences • Define and roll out system tools to monitor and grow the M&A platform • Communicate and liaise with team members across business manager functions, communications, marketing, finance, legal, personnel, and technology • Field a variety of ad hoc assignments, typically with time constraints
sup BAML? definitely middle office but I'd assume if you really made an impression and something opened up they might consider you
HR really went wild here. Fee analysis and ad-hoc assignments under time constraints.
from the job posting:
This is NOT an investment banking analyst position.
