Is this really possible?

Has any senior went for GS Superday/Final Interview? How was the structure like and how did you prepare for it to get your role?

I don’t know how I got it but I just did… I didn’t apply for any GS role for summer 2025 because I thought I would never get in anyway because my portfolio is FAR from good enough (acceptance rate is 1%) but GS emailed me several times within 2 weeks after I attended their event (i dont even know how i got that event i anyhow applied just to hopefully put a GS event in my resume)

1st email - asking me to confirm my graduation date (because i wrote the wrong year in the resume i sent for the event omfg and they say it stated 5 years for BBA) & asked me to apply for GS Summer because i said i didn’t apply for any

2nd email - asking me to clarify my exp with a government agency (i said i didnt work for any in my application but i didn’t realise one of the company is considered a government agency)

3rd email - invited me for Superday Interview for a finance role in GS, a fast track to GS because they said their managers were impressed by my performance in the event (idk how bro) and asked me to choose an interview slot but i somehow didn’t see the email and didn’t reply by their deadline….

4th email - emailed me again asking me to choose an interview slot (5 days passed their invitation deadline) and only then i saw the email and replied

but the problem is… I really dont know how to prepare for it… for context:

  • I am second upper only

  • i am NOT (rejected w/o interview lmao) in NUS Investment Society, did not apply AWMC or Pathfinders or NUS IB Club etc because i didn’t think theyll accept me anyway w/o banking internship so i have no relevant clubs at all

  • have NO internship experience in any banks or Big4s or IB, my only 2 university internships are from companies that a layman has never heard of (and a non banking role)

  • the role offered is for an overseas office (deemed more prestigious than SG office) but Im singaporean (albeit I speak their local language fluently)

  • finance spec and no 2nd spec/2nd major/minor

  • did not win any competition in uni, related or unrelated to finance nor attended any high fin comp like stock pitch

  • made a few mistakes in application already (grad date & govt agency thing)

  • also i heard they much prefer Ivys/UK but im only NUS

  • my only CCAs are sports, volunteer and non-fin clubs

because I didn’t see the email for the superday fast track invite (final interview before offer as compared to usual application w 5-6 interviews) until they emailed again, I lost 5 more days to prepare😭😭😭 and I also have a midterms this week im so stressed and confused right now and I have no prior experience in any bank interviews (honestly all the banks I applied eg HSBC UBS BOA Nomura rejected me w/o in person interview😒) if anyone has experience with GS interviews I would appreciate if you have any tips thank you! especially if you got the fast tracked invite as well!

this post is also an encouragement for other students like me who felt that they are “not good enough“ to get banks or GS!! I always see high flyer posting on linkedin about the clubs theyre in or the big4/big names they got in and felt like i was “never good enough” as a finance student, (ive never posted on linkedin because i felt like i had no achievement big enough like others) linkedin is so toxic tbh so hopefully this post shows the possibly of someone not as “perfect” getting a final interview too. even if u were deemed “not good enough” by some other students your age to join NUS Clubs, doesn’t mean you are any less valuable to bigger corporations! ever even in my list as a dream to work towards (i did not get in by nepotism, my family is blue collar & has never heard of GS, i told my mom about this but she gave zero fucks and continued cooking her fish)
