Very new group; spun out of a combined LevFin/Sponsors group post-merger. Very small junior group and not extremely technical; the group is intended to essentially be the relationship people with sponsors. UBS flow is almost all sponsor-led except for a very few corporate deals, so you will get a ton of deal exposure/deals to put on the resume, but don't actually do much for any deals, as most modelling and technical work is handled out of traditional industry coverage and/or product groups.

A good group compared to the street, but not really elite per se, because although UBS takes up a large chunk of sponsor LevFin revenue and flow, it doesn't take up as large a share of sponsor M&A or ECM flow. The only truly "elite" group at UBS is LevFin large part of UBS being a genuinely very relevant player in sponsor LevFin with a strong history of being lead-left in deals.

However, within the UBS context would say this group is without a doubt in the top 3 with LevFin/GIG, and you should pick amongst the 3 based on interests and people. Sponsors IMO is the best WLB group that is also decent in the bank, though. LevFin and GIG are both not toxic, but the hours are significantly longer than Sponsors.
