Is UC Berkeley a target school?

I am wondering if UC Berkeley is a target school. If so, is it just for Haas students and/or econ majors? I want to double major in Economics and Applied Mathematics or maybe just some type of engineering (but I worry that'll hurt me for IB recruiting).

You'll be fine with any of those. Get involved in clubs, ec's, and start networking early and you'll have all the opportunities you work for.

Keep your gpa at least 3.5, though or else it'll be much harder to secure internships.

Haas is a target for SF Tech groups (a significant number of GS/MS/JPM/Qatalyst Analysts come from Haas) as well as non-tech groups in SF and LA, while other Berkeley majors such as Econ and Applied Math are still well respected by groups out here. From my experience, it seems like Berkeley is a semi-target for East Coast opportunities. You will not have on-campus recruiting from many NY groups, but the Berkeley name will step help you to network your way into interview processes.
