Jefferies Competitors (Who do they pitch against)
Do they pitch/compete against MM's like Piper/HW/RBC or do they compete against mid tier BBs or any other insight welcome Average deal size for Jefferies in 2022 vs. average deal size for MMs like Piper/HW/RBC in 2022?
Don’t have access to merger market atm
At an EB you listed and we pitch against Jefferies probably more than any other bank
My group pitches against GS, Citi, RBC, Evercore, JPM, PWP.
Always pitching against the likes of GS, MS, JPM, evercore. Most of the time if the client is even considering piper, cowen, or any of those other MM banks over us, we tell just decline and let the client be without us.
Satire or you being serious?
Common for HC
Yea, no your mds don’t turn down good opportunities bc of the names competition goes against in bake-off. Unless they have no chance of winning or already know fee client willing to negotiate too low.

.
You don't really that often actually interact with other banks in IB unless you're already on a deal with them.
Depends on the deal size.
I've pitched $300-500m EBITDA businesses against GS, MS, JPM, BofA, etc., $100-200m EBITDA businesses against EVR, Moelis, Citi, Barclays, and <$100m EBITDA businesses against the typical MM players - Baird, Blair, Piper, RJ, etc.
Can you call out a percentage mix. How often do you pitch size a, b and c?
Stating the obvious - there’s a lot more <$100m ebitda businesses out there.
