Jefferies or GS/MS?

Hi fellow monkeys, I have calls set up with some alumni from my semi target at each of these banks.

ive read in other threads that all 3 have great deal flow, top groups, and consistently send people to UMM/MF

is this true? What is everyone’s opinion and which banks I should focus my time on?

thank you!

I’ll bite, assuming this isn’t a troll.

If you had offers from these three, it would come to picking from GS/MS. GS/MS have consistent MF exits, while JEF does not. But, if we get into the nitty gritty, JEF does have certain groups that place very well (HC, M&A, LevFin, Tech). Would only say that JEF LevFin and HC can compare to their counterparts at GS/MS, whereas pretty much every other group at JEF does not.

Now, this being said- if you want lean deal teams and more responsibility, then JEF is still a great bank for you. just because it doesn’t directly compare to the GS/MS doesn’t mean it isn’t a good place. If you work hard and get good bucket/reps, you have a shot at placing UMM/MF from JEF. But it will be much harder than GS/MS.
