JPM just doesn't fire people as a bank, philosophy is to lower bonuses if needed to keep margins but they never cut people. JPM is very protected due to large consumer bank outperforming due to rising interest rates to balance out drop in IB fees.
recently JPM head of IB answered this question on an investor call, explaining they they won't cut IB headcount now in order to preserve momentum and future growth, but they would consider reducing variable costs (bonuses).
