Theyre hiring for real, I received an offer and know 2 other people who are joining as well. Also know friends who were in processes but they seem very picky looking for the ideal candidate.

They are massively expanding IB head count. But they will only take great guys. Expect those posts to open for all of 2025 because they are insanely picky. But yes they are real.
They are super picky and would rather spend 4+ months recruiting even if urgently need someone

Agree with the other posters. They’re real - 80hr cap + focus on expanding mid-market business has them hiring quite a bit. They’re being selective nonetheless.
They’re real. Our group just hasn’t hired because the case studies we got back from candidates were pretty trash
What types of case studies do you guys send out?
How do you recommend getting in front, you guys? I applied to a bunch but have not gotten any

They're real but in this market the BBs aren't thirsty for mediocre talent from mediocre backgrounds and are actually taking the time to have candidates do modeling tests, meet the full team, supply veritable references, etc.
A combination of it being an Employer's market and a massive disappointment from a lot of the mediocre candidates that banks took chances on during COVID years who have not been able to hang. A ton of those hires have already been flushed out and straight up were completely unrealistic about their ability to keep up with the hours, intensity and stress.
I've seen the JPM M&A opening open since I started my full-time job. These mfs are really that picky? I tried to network and they're not responsive either.
