Used to work in this group. High bar for good quality work - you'll get all the reps you need with more of an emphasis on m&a and equity deals vs debt. You'll easily work 80-100 hours a week, but I've heard both culture and comp has gotten better. Some exits to MF (KKR, TPG, Silverlake) and a lot of exits to UMM (TA, GA, etc), VC, and Tech. For you college students -- most of my class didn't want to go the MF route but the hardos who wanted it all got interviews.

Can attest, work in product group @ JPM with these guys a lot - still the few hardos/mismanagement that keep culture on edge but good team and good work. Pretty tight knit and do fun things like trips outings etc. Good deal flow and great exposure for a JPM coverage group (which for some other groups often times can be sidelined to administrative BS work)

got it, thanks. i've heard exits for jpm sf tech are pretty self-select (ppl wanting to go into vc/ge over mfpe).  Any color on whether or not jpm tech prepares you adequately in terms of deal experience, etc.

They have been posting that for a while. Does anyone know what's up? I know they are interviewing, but it looks like they have been trying to fill or expand that class for a while.

Does anyone have insights on difference between sf m&a and tech? Is tech m&a a thing or completely separate?

got it - are there any noticeable differences in terms of pe exits? would you still get the modeling experience and all necessary skills at tech coverage?

Confused why people in the thread think they’re adding. One of my buddies in the group told me recently they’re cutting hc.
