JPM Treasury Analyst Question
Hi there fellow monkeys,
I am currently going to be graduating from a semi-target with a non-finance background. I recently received an interview request for the following position https://jobs.chase.com/ShowJob/Id/197629/Corporat… . I have read differing views about Corporate Treasury positions online. Based on the job description, does this position seem like a good "fit" if I eventually want to transition into FO finance roles (IBD/ER), or is it basically a dead end? Also, I do have a quantitative STEM background so I'm not concerned about the math, but are there any finance concepts I should review?
Almost no shot you make it to FO / IBD from there. Shoot for something in NYC, even if you have to trade away BB name brand.
Thanks for the insight. The way they were marketing it to me was more of an analytics role and apparently they are expanding the team. I was planning on taking my offer for Big 4 MC (non strategy) instead, and then using an MBA to pivot into finance, but wanted to gauge what this role would possibly entail. Will definitely keep looking for other positions though.
Yeah if your offer was for corporate treasury in NYC I would argue it's worth considering. The location you were looking at is notorious for pretty high attrition because they oversell all the roles.
