Junior Year SA: JPAM v. Wells IB
Hi guys,
Just wanted to gauge opinions on the forum about junior year SA offers my friend is currently deciding between. One is Wells Fargo IB (either in Charlotte or NYC, location not secured yet) or JPM Asset Management (NYC). He long-term goal is to be an investor, and he's been in love with the public markets for as long as I can remember. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
JPM Asset Management for sure
Thanks for the input. I think it should also be noted that my friend was previously leaning towards Wells Fargo due to the greater diversity of exit ops and the more widely applicable skill set gained in IB. Also he doesn't know what his placement at either firm will be, though at Wells it would likely be in M&A or a coverage group and at JPAM it would be on the product/portfolio side.
JPAM is an awesome opportunity. You can still try to recruit for FT IBD next year if you want to. You never know, you might really enjoy Asset Management.
Your friend made the right choice. You can read my post here about how shitty the group and location placement process is at Wells.
About time you made your appearance here lol
