KKR IPO in America

So KKR is going to IPO. What is everyone's predictions? The founders of this company have been trying to get on the NYSE for a long time. Now that it finally happened I'm excited to see if the stock performs as well as they think it will.

I met a banker once that told me when PE firms go public, then you know shit is going to go sour. No idea how true it is, but to some extent it makes sense. If there was still a lot of money to be made as a partnership then they would remain a partnership (in KKR's case they have already listed in Europe so this analysis really doesn't apply).

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

I agree. These people make it a living knowing when a business has reached its peak and its time to monetize. I would assume the same principals are at play here.

I don't mean to be so tongue-in-cheek here, but wouldn't that make them a PUBLIC Equity firm?
