Lateral as an Analyst or Associate
Currently an analyst 1 at a LMM boutique M&A shop. I want to lateral to a name-brand NY/LA bank from my tier 2 city.
The biggest caveat is that I am extremely confident I will get the associate promotion at my current shop due to their headcount and expressed need for A2A. Should I stick it out for another couple years and try to lateral as an associate so I don’t need to reestablish myself and get a promotion at a new shop, or should I just lateral ASAP?
