Lateral from MM to EB/BB

Currently at a semi-target and incoming SA at a reputable MM (STRH/Baird/Oppenheimer). Obviously, I’m very excited and grateful for the opportunity, and given how enormously difficult it was to break into the game, I am intending to stay with the company. My first and only priority for this summer is getting that FT return offer.

However, I can’t help but be enticed by the “what else is out there” idea. Would it be worth it for me to try and network heavily near the end of my summer internship, around accelerated application time, with EBs and BBs? This is assuming I don’t have a great experience as a SA.

Again, want to emphasize that I am not actively looking to lateral. I am familiar with how grueling FT recruitment is, even if I am qualified and applying earlier.

Thanks in advance!
