Lateral Recruiting
I'm looking for some advice. I graduated as a student-athlete from a non-target ~5 years ago with a degree in Econ. Due to my sport being a fall sport we were required to be on campus throughout most of the summer for workouts so I did not have a chance to do internships. I won a national championship being captain of the team, graduated early, and then got drafted into my sports professional league. Due to a career-ending injury I can not play the sport at that high of a level anymore and need to transition careers. I have been trying to break into IB as a lateral hire. Is it even realistic for me to do so or do I have to go get an MBA to break in IB?
TLDR: After a pro sports career, is it possible to break into IB or do you have to get an MBA?
