Lateraling from a BB to a MM
I currently work at as an analyst at a BB in nyc and would like to transfer to a MM bank in a smaller city after my first year. I have a whole bunch of different reasons for doing this. But I was wondering if anyone had any experience doing this? How should I go about this? There is a specific MM bank that I am interested in joining. Do I reach out to people there? What’s the best approach / when should I start looking?
Had a friend who did this - without a doubt possible, but you'll need to make sure you have a reasonable answer for why you're looking to leave your noticeably better bank/city for a lower option. I would start looking now, the window to lateral is now through the next couple months.
